Research on Damage Identification for Suspenders Based on the Change of Suspenders Forces of Through and Half-Through Arch Bridges

Abstract:Considered the influence of elastic supports at both ends of suspender, damping effect of shock pads in tied beams and arch ribs, furthermore additional masses of tied beams and arch ribs, an analytical expression between the suspender tension and lateral vibration frequency was established under complex boundary conditions to improve the accuracy of suspender tension test. Based on perturbation finite element method forces of suspenders affected by the damage of suspenders were researched. A new method was proposed to identify suspender damage according to the change of suspenders forces which was proved by examples of Liujiang Bridge on Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao expressway. The calculation results showed the test precision of suspender tension test was improved for having been considered the actual boundary conditions of suspenders, and according to the change of suspenders forces the identification results were accurate.
