Abstract: In order to analyze gas flow noise from the chamber of rolling piston compressors, an effective method was presented based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Through the flow simulation of pump chamber by using dynamics mesh technology, the vortexes with larger turbulence intensity were found, and the location and mechanism of vortexes formation were analyzed. Then amplitude and frequency of vibration excitation were evaluated by gas force on the wall from CFD. The comparative results with or without silencer hole explained the principle of noise reduction, and validated the method. The proposal has also been arise to control flow and noise.
