Dynamic Simulation and Analysis of Vehicle-Bridge Coupled System with Foundation Unequal Settlement

Abstract:The dynamic model was presented for the vehicle-bridge coupled system with unequal settlement of foundation. The rail irregularity caused by local subsidence was proposed using the Fourier series model. Dynamic equations were derived for the vehicle-bridge coupled system with longitudinal forces based on D’Alembert’s principle and the assumed mode method. The numerical results were obtained and dynamic responses of system were discussed caused by longitudinal forces, speeds of vehicle and the value of local subsidence respectively. It is shown that there would be a big change in amplitude of vibration or a shock occurring with the increase of value of unequal settlement. In addition, the influence of longitudinal forces on vibration response of system is not neglected in many cases.
