Abstract: SDOF human body models are widely used and it is essential to select proper parameters. Base on correlate literatures, a method of simplifying human body as an equivalent SDOF model is discussed and two different types of testing rigs are utilized to obtain the parameters for this model. The fitted equivalent free vibration frequency and damping ratio show good coherence to the correlate literatures in a certain range. It is concluded from the experimental study that: 1) the equivalent SDOF model may have different free vibration frequencies and damping ratios when human body interacts with structures with different dynamic parameters; 2) standing postrues may also affect these parameters.
