Abstract:As the influence of high stress caused by hull vibration on the hull strength and fatigue life causes wide attention. Therefore, to study the hull vibration, in this paper process of solving the hull vibration based on hydroelasticity theory was introduced. The vibration response of a ultra large fast ship was simulated based on segmented model tests. Effect of wave height and speed of model on vibration response was investigated, and longitudinal distribution of vibration response was analysized. Finally, the total moment and whipping response of this ship were predicted by 3D time domain nonlinear hydroelastic theory. The computational results obtained were in a good agreement with the test data.
