Abstract:Transmission coefficient is one of the most significant parameters of underwater acoustic materials. In order to measure the transmission coefficient in tank, a method based on pulse compression technique is proposed, where the directive wave are extracted from the compressed signal. The method can overcome unavoidable multi-path disturbance in experiment, and easily obtain the transmission coefficient for all the frequencies in the measured frequency band simultaneously. That is, wide-band measurement is realized. This method is verified through comparison between the results of narrow and wide-band measurements to a glass box, which are conducted in the frequency range of 20kHz-60kHz in a tank.
