Abstract:Based on the demand of engineering, the motion characteristics and time-frequency properties a rotor system with rub-impact at fixed limiter were studied by using experiments. Three typical cases with different rotating speeds were chosen in experiments. On the basis of traditional amplitude spectrum and shaft center orbit, Hilbert-Huang transformation was applied to the fault signals analysis. Fault features were characterized completely and accurately with Hilbert spectrum. It was shown there are typical characteristics of periodic motion and the corresponding time-frequency (instantaneous frequency) -amplitude /energy representations in the rotor system with rub-impact at fixed limiter.
