Unbonded post-tensioned precast shear walls are constructed by post-tensioning precast wall panels across horizontal joints using post-tensioning steel or tendon which is not bonded to the concrete. This paper summarizes the behavior of these walls under lateral load and introduces numerical way to simulate its behavior. Two type models to simulate the behavior of joints are proposed. Lateral load behavior of unbonded post-tensioned precast walls are evaluated by static analysis using OpenSees software and the outcome is compared with available experimental results to verify the accuracy of the analytical methods. The analysis indicates that unbonded post-tensioned precast walls can undergo large displacement with little residual deformation which may be considered to have resiliency.
