Vibration signal analysis of rotor based on the CHI-LMD method

Abstract:To solve the problem that the accuracy and efficiency of the cubic spline interpolation-based local mean decomposition (CSI-LMD) method is relatively low, an improved LMD approach based on cubic Hermite interpolation and orthogonality criterion is proposed in this paper. Firstly, cubic spline interpolation is replaced with cubic Hermite interpolation, and furthermore, orthogonality criterion is employed to determine the iterations of deriving each product function. Finally, a novel LMD algorithm can be developed by integrating other procedures of the original LMD. The simulative and experimental results show that the proposed method performs much better than CSI-LMD method in several aspects, including decomposition accuracy, time consumption and so on.
