Abstract:In view of the mode mixing problem in processing dense frequency signals, associated with the Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD)method, a new method of vibration signal processing, Frequency modulated empirical mode decomposition (FM-EMD) method, is proposed in this paper. The mode mixing problem when processing nonlinear signals with dense frequencies is solved. The physical meaning of the identified intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) is improved. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by numerical simulations. With frequency modulation empirical mode decomposition method to analyze the vibration signal of fault bearing, Practical examples show that the diagnosis approach put forward in this paper can identify bearing fault patterns effectively.
