Abstract:Lattice steel column is commonly used in tall detached column or bent frame column in heavy industrial workshop building, it is readily bore the lateral impact load under mixed application environment. In order to study the performance of latticed Steel column resistance to lateral impact,six latticed steel column specimens had been put to test under lateral impact by DHR9401-Drop-Weight-Impact-Tester. Time-history curves and residual deformation of specimens had been recorded during the course of test. Based on the experimental data, the dynamic behavior of steel column had been analyzed and discussed, the specimens showed remarkable anti-impact abilities and more ductility during the test. The study showed that the overall bending deflection and local bucking deformation had been occured simultaneously under lateral impact load during the test running. The overall bending deformation and local bucking deformation of the specimens obviously tended to increase with the increasing of impact energy, the test results revealed that there is near linear relationship between the two factors.
