Because of the limit energy supplied on the soil sampling machinery the energy transfer efficiency was analyzed and compared under different waveform and constant rock-soil’s dynamic stiffness based on the general impact machinery model. The impactor’s impedance was designed inversely based on one-dimensional wave mechanics and Dirac delta function δ(t) in order to achieve the optimal waveform and it was proved correctly by forward solution and FEM; the state of motion and stress between the impactor and rod was analyzed by separation first hypothesis between them. The energy transfer efficiency and impactor’s impaction efficiency influenced by impactor’s geometry dimensionless parameters were analyzed and the optimal parameters were also determined.
