Abstract:Based on the pressure measurement wind tunnel test results of the rigid model of a real high-rise buildingwith a complex shape, the most unfavorable pressure coefficients on measured taps are analyzed and the effects of the shape of the local facades on the most unfavorable pressure coefficients are studied. The results show that the most unfavorable positivepressure coefficients are not affected by the shape of the local facades and can be approximately estimated with the quasi-steadymethod. The most unfavorable negative pressure coefficients differ seriously as the local shape of the facades changes and thoseon a flat facade are small while large on a curve facade. These conclusions provide basis for the cladding design of high-rise buildings.
