Abstract:Since a boring bar is usually with high length-to-diameter (L/D) ratios, it is inclined to vibrate. Vibration problem exists in boring bars during boring process. The vibration limits the remove rate according to the method of making use of vibration to control intrinsic vibration, A cantilever-beam system dynamic model is established made up of piezoelectric sensor and actuators. A controlling circuit based on displacement-feedback strategy is designed to drive the piezoelectric actuator, furthermore, to actively control the vibration. The result of simulation and experiment indicates that it can restrain the vibration of boring bar effectively during cutting process. On the other hand, it is simple and practical to implement.
