Abstract:Euler-Bernoulli beam model is taken to simulate the offshore wind turbine support structure. The universal finite element software ANSYS is adopted to establish the calculation model of support structure. Based on these, the influences of the upper structure quality (including rotor, engine, etc) of the wind turbine and the whole wind turbine gravity and seawater on the support structure’s natural frequency are analyzed. The dynamic response of support structure under the transient shock is presented. The results show that the upper structure quality should be taken into account, but the gravity of the wind turbine can be ignored when calculating the natural frequency of the support structure; the influence of seawater is great when considering the high order natural frequency of the support structure; and the upper structure quality would make the response of support structure more smooth under the transient shock
