Abstract:A combined method based on the multi-level substructuring technique and the Lanczos algorithm is proposed for solving the dynamic characteristics of the large-scale and complicate structures. On the implementation of the method, a total tridiagonal matrix is given by accumulating the orthogonal coefficients of each substructure, and the eigenvalues corresponding to integral structure is solved. The method is able to solve the eigenvalue and eigenvector problems of super large-scale structures and has good computational efficiency and stability, and less computational cost. Since the contribution of all internal DOF of each substructure to the dynamic characteristics of overall structure is considered, the accuracy is improved significantly and is the same as the result that would be achieved by directly solving the overall structure without condensation process. It can be found that the partitioning scheme of substructure will not affect the numerical results, and the finite element modeling has great flexibility. The numerical results show the solutions obtained by the proposed multi-level substructuring method are effective and valid.
