Abstract:On basis of an existing typical stiffened steel blast door, the research is focused on the evaluation of the corresponding resistance and dynamic response by using ABAQUS finite element software. It is demonstrated that the door resistance is satisfied with the designing requirements and hold in addition to maintain the enough allowance. All the factors that influence and regulate the blast-resistant properties of stiffened blast door are further analyzed including the number and layouts of stiffeners, thickness and height of beam web, thickness and width of beam flange, surface plate thickness, explosion distance, charge weight and duration of blast loading etc. Finally, a reasonable model for engineering calculations is built up. The results might provide a theoretical basis on designing and optimizing the similar blast doors.
