Abstract:By introducing Pseudo-excitation method of random vibration theory into the VIV calculation of marine riser, a numeral calculation method is established. The analysis of in-line and flow-cross random vibration response to marine riser is performed via the programming codes based on this method. Comparing the calculation results of the flow-cross response of riser with the experimental results, the feasibility of the application of Pseudo-excitation method of random vibration theory to the VIV calculation of marine riser is verified. The computing time are recorded to validate the high calculation efficiency of this new method. The fatigue damage rate of the riser per year is evaluated and the service life of the riser can be predicted based on the P-M criterion. A reference to the calculation of VIV response and engineering design of marine riser is provided by the method.
