Abstract: MR-TMD is a new type of semi-active control device which combines a Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) and a Magneto Rheological (MR) Damper. In this paper, a dynamical model for Train-Bridge-Damper coupling vibration system is established considering the track irregularities. Based on the self-developed computational software (TDBCA1.0) for coupling vibration of rail vehicle-bridge-track system, take the example of German ICE3 high-speed railway train passing (80+128+80)meters continuous box girder bridge, the relations between the bridge vibration and track irregularities are investigated. Effects of vibration control with TMD and MR-TMD on the bridge are also analyzed. The results shown that the effect of track irregularities on vertical displacement of the bridge is small and on vibration acceleration is large. The higher the train speed is, the larger the track irregularities effect on the vibration acceleration. The maximum displacement of the bridge is impacted little by MR-TMD, but the vibration acceleration is effected obvious, and MR-TMD is effective than TMD in reducing the vibration of the bridge.
