Stochastic Vibration of Long-span Floor under Crowd-induced Rhythmic Excitation

Abstract:This paper investigates the dynamic characteristics of long-span floors under crowd-induced rhythmic excitation by using stochastic vibration approach combined with finite element method for modal analysis. For this purpose, a stochastic vibration modal accounting for the multi-modal floor resonance is developed, together with the rules to quantify rhythmic excitation frequencies and loading regions corresponding to specified floor modal resonance. Also, the parameter study on contact ration and floor damping ratio was proposed.
