Abstract:The problem about Ship collision is the hot point of the ship mechanics, and the striking bow which simplified as rigid will have a certain impact on the results. By using MSC.Dytran, a nonlinear finite element code for dynamic response analysis, analysis was performed for the collision scenario of a 159,000DWT oil tanker struck by a 176,000DWT buck carrier. First, the difference of collision capabilities between real soft striking bow and simplified rigid striking bow was compared, and then focus on the influence of striking bow stiffness to the collision capabilities of struck structures. The influence of striking bow stiffness to the collision capabilities is find out, show that the improved striking bow structure can effectively improve the safety of ship collision.
