Based on the plate theory and wave function expansion method, the scattering phenomena of guided wave in an infinite plate with single and two circular damages are theoretically analyzed respectively. By using the translational addition theorems of Bessel functions, the expressions of scattering displacement fields in plate are obtained. Numerical results of distribution of scattering displacement fields around the damage are graphically presented and discussed. The results show that the existence of multiple damages have larger effects on the displacement components of and than . The displacement component of is sensitive to multiple damages and could be used as an effective index to identify damages in plate-like structures.
