Earthquake damage analysis at home and abroad is showed that seismic capacity of transformer & bushing is weak and the destruction types is diversity when earthquake happened. It is the key to reduce the acceleration response which improving seismic ability of transformer and bushing. Seismic isolation technology has been used widely because of characteristics which is isolation mechanism clear, isolation effect obvious. Firstly, Isolation layer design scheme suited to transformer and bushing are put forward. Through the combined isolation bearings developed and experimental studied, the mechanical performance parameters for bearings are obtained which mechanical properties is stable and hysteretic energy dissipation is strong. Secondly, one true type testing transformer model with bushings is designed. Shaking table test on transformer with or without isolation are carried out under the different earthquake inputs. Dynamic characteristics and seismic response of transformer and bushings are analyzed. Test results show that the natural frequency of transformer with isolation is much lower and acceleration seismic response is greatly reduced subjected to various seismic wave besides of Taft inputting. In addition, using ANSYS to establish the testing transformer model, numerical analysis of seismic response for transformer with two kinds of isolation schemes are carried out. Analysis and experimental results are basically the same. In conclusion, mentioned above research have reference role to seismic isolation design and application for power transformer with bushings for the future.
