A low building and a tower were constructed near Shanghai Pudong International Airport by East China Sea in order to investigate characteristic of wind field and wind pressure on the surface of the roof. The remarkable feature of the test building is that the roof pitch can be adjusted between 0°and 30°, so that the impact of pressure on different roof pitches can be analyzed. First in this paper, three ten minutes' wind pressure time-history were analyzed with different roof pitches at 0°, 10° and 20°, respectively. And then comparison was made with wind tunnel test data by a rigid model with 1:30 scale. It is suggested that distributions of the mean and fluctuating pressure distribution agree well with those by method of the wind tunnel test results. Next, the stationarity and correlation of wind velocity and wind direction are examined, and it is discovered that the coupling effect between them is evident. The impact of the vertical wind direction on fluctuating wind velocity is large, and the correlation coefficient is about -0.5 when there is no lagged time. Finally, the non-Gaussian characteristic of the pressure is investigated. It is shown that there exists linear relation between the skewness and kurtosis, and the fitting equations are presented between skewness and kurtosis with 0, 10, and 30 pitches.
