Abstract

This study expends the method of reverberation-ray matrix (MRRM) to the transient dynamic response analysis of laminated composite beam based on first shear deformation theory (FSDT).The theory model of laminated composite beam by MRRM based on first shear deformation theory is established. The velocity responses of laminated composite cantilever beam under smoothed triangular pulse force load are investigated firstly. The results show good agreement with that obtained by finite element method (FEM).The effect of ply-stacking sequence on transient dynamic response is also illustrated. It is verified that the MRRM can solve accurately the dynamic response of laminated composite beam. The axial-bending-shear coupled effects in the asymmetrically laminated beam are analyzed by MRRM. It is found that the axial (transverse) load can cause transverse (axial) dynamic response with the increase of the axial-bending-shear coupled coefficient, the amplitude of the coupled response also increases with the increase of coupled coefficient apparently.
