With increase in terrorists blast threats, the occuring probability of explosion in a subway rises. As the main forcebearing member of a subway station, it is necessary to evaluate the damage of its column under a blast loading within a closer distance. Here, using the finite element analysis method, a coupled analysis model for explosiveairconcrete column was established. The applicability of the model was verified with existing tests. A damage evaluation method based on the loadbearing capacity of a subway station's column was proposed. The damage of the subway station column was divided into different damage levels. The damage of the column of a typical subway station under the actions of different explosives was evaluated. Using the proposed coupled calculation model and the evaluation method, the damage of a reinforced concrete column subjected to blast loading within a closer distance was evaluated and it was designed to meet the requirements of anti-blast.
