Abstract:Based on two masonry structures,an situ experiment was carried out to study the vibration induced by the subway in Shanghai from two aspects as the vibration level and frequency. Preliminary conclusion were:Vibrations of the floors increase by height. The vibration acceleration level in the vertical direction of the top floor is 2~4dB larger than that of the ground floor and when it comes to the horizontal direction, the vibration acceleration level of the top floor is 6~7dB larger than that of the ground floor. The vibration levels in the three directions in traffic peak time are all larger than those in non peak time. The vibration level in daytime is larger than that at night. Vibration in the center of the floor is larger than that in the corner of the floor and that in the staircase. Vibration induced by subway is mainly in low frequency from 10Hz to 25Hz.
