New time-frequency feature extraction method was researched based on frequency slice wave-let transform (FSWT). FSWT was used to decompose the blasting vibration signal and full band of time-frequency distribution was got. After that, according to its energy distribution, time and frequency inter-vals were chosen to get accurate analysis of time-frequency feature. Through the reconstruction signal under characteristic frequency slices, separation and extraction of time-frequency feature were worked out. Compara-tive analysis between FSWT and traditional algorithms such as STFT, WPT and WVD shows that, FSWT algo-rithm has good time-frequency clustering, good flexibility because any band component feature can be ex-tracted, and better accuracy. FSWT algorithm was introduced to blasting vibration effects analysis fields, and it has made some groundwork for time-frequency feature extraction accurately. So, it will have a good application prospect.
