Abstract: For smart isolated system with distributed parameters, the bidirectional piezoelectric variable friction control device which has the function of isolation and control is designed. This control device can produce control force in two orthogonal directions. Furthermore, this control device has the function of isolation. Then relation equation of control force with input voltage for this control device is presented. According to the conditions of this control device producing control force, the semi-active control algorithm which is applicable to the vibration control of system by this control device is deduced. Finally, one bidirectional piezoelectric variable friction control device is simulated numerically and used to smart isolation system with distributed parameters by the semi-active control algorithm under the sequential optimal modal control algorithm based on full state observers. Simulation results show the control system has the excellent control effect.
