A structural damage identification method based on time series analysis was proposed to solve the question how to get the structural damage indexes in structural responses. AR predicted reference model was established using undamaged structural response data after data preprocessing. Secondly, the residual error of damage condition was calculated by AR predicted reference model, and then the variance of time series predicted model residual error was taken as damage index. At last, a single support beam was takes as an case study. Results shows that the damage index proposed can defined whether the damage was existed, and the proposed method can be applied to locate the damage.
