The experiment on dynamic response of bird striking on plate made of 45# steel under three kinds of different velocities were detailed studied by using dynamic data acquisition systems. The displacement-time history curves of three points and strain-time history curves of four points on 45# steel plate were measured, and also, the hitory curves of supported reaction force varing with time along four kins of striking directions were measured, at the same time, the whole process of dynamic deformation and damage of bird and plate were recorded using high speed camera system. The good agreement of the results between two specimens in one group indicated that the results tested in the presnet paper are reliable. The dynamic response of the plate and the damage modes of the bird influenced by striking velocity were analyzed. The peak value of the displacement and support reaction force linear enlarged with the increasing of the striking velocity. The fluid feature of the bird expressed more obvious with the increasing of the striking velocity, this indicated that the bird should be simulated using fluid constitutive model under high velocity striking. The test results in the present paper provided valuable data for the establishment of the bird’s constitutive model, and also provided abundant test datas for the numerical simulation model applied in bird striking.
