In the complex process of identifying the cable tension of the clamped cable, the data overflow may be caused by the exponential functions in the frequency function. In order to handle the numerical problem and simplify the identification of cable tension, the exponential functions are approximated according to the numerical properties of the exponential and trigonometric function, the approximate frequency function is deduced and the frequency formula of clamped cable is constructed using the periodicity of the approximate frequency function. Finally,the numerical examples verify the approximate frequency formula.
