Thin film inflatable torus are main supporting structures for next generation large space membrane spacecrafts, its intrinsic properties are high flexibility, low bending stiffness, nonlinear geometrical deformation and strong damping et al. In this study, an experimental test system was assembled to investigate the dynamic properties of thin film inflatable torus. Due to traditional hammer induce local deformation, the excitation method was modified. In plane and out of plane frequency response function of thin film inflatable torus were collected, the poles number were discerned by complex modal index, and the structural natural frequencies, damping as well as mode shapes were identified through polynomial fitting process. The dynamic properties of different internal gas pressure were analyzed and issues relate to experimental test were discussed, experimental results can be used for finite element model validation and verification of space thin film structures.
