Abstract:Dynamic time history analysis of soil-structure system during propagation Rayleigh waves is carried out using the Rayleigh wave input method based on viscous-spring artificial boundary, and the seismic response of a underground structure during propagation of Rayleigh wave is studied. The influences of structure material strength, structure thickness and soil stiffness are investigated in detail. Numerical analysis results show large effect of Rayleigh wave on the dynamic response of shallow underground structures. The internal force and deformation cause by Rayleigh wave are significant, and the influences must be taken into account in seismic design of underground structures.
