To resolve the difficulty in processing, interpreting and classifying the AE (acoustic emission) data, the rotor rubbing detecting system is designed and composed of PCI-2 AE system and WS-ZHT1 Multi-function rotor test rig. The AE signal generated by rotor rubbing was acquired. According to the nature of AE signal and the Wavelet function, the dB8 wavelet function is suitable for extracting the AE signal character. The statistic of amount of AE signals created by rotor rubbing contains much information. The statistic of AE signals under different speed of rotor was analyzed. The spectrum of AE is 100-400kHz. The average amplitude and energy of AE could be used to identify the extents of the rotor failure and the main part of power spectrum could be used to distinguish the positions of AE sources. The conclusion is not affected by the style of rotor rubbing.
