Abstract

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is employed to clarify across-wind aerodynamic parameters of special-shaped tall chimney. RMS value of lift coefficient and Strouhal number are obtained by CFD simulation and the results can be used for study on across-wind vibration of the chimney. In addition, the flow around a square cylinder and the flow around a circular cylinder are studied, and the results are compared with the data obtained from the wind-tunnel experiment.
