Abstract: A sandwich beam with Magnetorheological (MR) elastomers core was designed and fabricated. Experiment was carried out to investigate the vibration response performances of the sandwich beam. The results show that its natural frequencies and response amplitude are varied when a magnetic field is applied to the MR elastomers sandwich beam. The vibration characteristics of the sandwich beam can be controlled by external magnetic field.
