Abstract

The influence of two kinds of irregular signal on synchronization of non-autonomous chaotic systems was discussed. Employing a harmonically excited Duffing-Van derpol oscillator with potential, one can observe that the common input of irregular signal with appropriate strength, i.e., Gaussian white noise or Rossler chaotic driving, can successfully induce complete synchronization between two identical non-autonomous chaotic oscillators through analyzing the largest Lyapunov exponent and synchronization error. In addition, when the two considered oscillators are non-identical, the structural stability of noise-induced synchronization is examined by means of average synchronization error and synchronization time. And the result reveals that the noise-induced synchronization is quite robust to parameter misfit. The present investigation is of great relevance and practice in ecology, neural system, engineer and so on.
