Abstract

Research progress on two types of paper-based cushioning packing structure, namely honeycomb paperboard and corrugated paperboard is reviewed; the achievements and special emphasis on the research of influence factors and the influence rules of the energy-absorbing characteristics are summarized,emphatically elaborated the research status on two influence factors, that is, environmental humidity and strain-rate effects. The further research emphases of above materials are the development of energy absorption models, which gives a comprehensive consideration of structure parameters, environmental humidity and strain-rate effects. Constructions of the characterization methods of energy-absorption properties make a start of the future research.
