Abstract

Stiffness of actuator amplification and governing error in active vibration isolation (AVI) are investigated. The stiffness of the actuator should match the stiffness of the external load, and it can be amplified by connecting the actuator with a small stiffness spring in series if the load is heavy or the stiffness of actuator is low. The performance of AVI is analyzed when the governing error is evenly distributed. The results shows that in order to obtain the same performance of vibration isolation, improving relative accuracy of controller and increasing stroke of actuator are both needed when stiffness of actuator is amplified, the stiffness of actuator is equivalent to and can be substituted by its stroke and relative accuracy of controller which provides us the accordance to select controller and actuator in even wider area on AVI design.
