Abstract

In order to improve the response characteristics for the road vibration, a novel suspension system with the spiral flywheel motion transformer was presented. The dynamic characteristic of the motion transformer was analyzed. Based on traditional mechanical-electrical analogy theory, the free capacitor component was proposed to encapsulate the motion, transformation and mass characteristics of the spiral flywheel. The mechanical network synthesis method was then used to construct the state-space model for novel suspension. Parameters of the suspension were optimization designed so as to analyze the optimal vibration control performance. The result shows that proposed suspension has better performance, which provides a novel approach for the design of the vehicle suspension.
