Abstract

A theoretical analysis of vibration charateristics was presented for two identical beams couple with beunded fluid and connected by a spring. The couple modes were discussed, respectively, according to the symmetric and antisymmetric modes of a single modes of a single beam. The symmetric modes as well as antisymmetric modes were expanded in terms of finite sine series and cosine series, respectively. Frequency response function(FRFs) of the coupled system were obtained accotding to the principle of linear superposition. FRFs of the sustem subjected to a single-point force excitation, natutal frequencies, moadl shaoes and the pressure distribution in the fluid domain under resonant vibration were given. The results with the ptoposed analytical method were in good agreement with those with the finite element analysis. Moreover, the influence of the spring stiffness as well as the distance between the beams on the vibaration characteristics of the coupled system was simulated.
