Abstract

A three-layers tube with fiber braided rubber composite material was modeled as a high pressure rubber hoses. The finite oscillation and destruction of high pressure rubber hose under a suddenly applied internal pressure were studied based on the finite deformation theory of continuum mechanics and the nonlinear dynamics theory. The expression between deformation and applied internal pressure was obtained. The deformation curves, the phase diagrams and the stress distribution curves were given with numerical methods. The motion of hose was analysed according to nonlinear dynamics theory. The blast pressure corresponding to destruction of hose was discussed in agreement with the status of stress distribution. It shows that the motion of the hose is nonlinear periodic oscillation and the hose will be destroyed when the pressure exceeds the blast pressure.
