Abstract

Aiming at common problems existing in conventional stiffness calculation of bellows type air spring and based on air wave theory and elastic shell theory, an finite element approach was presented to calculate air pressure field and shell stress field distributons and, then dynamic stiffness was achieved. An application instance of mechanical impedance calculation of marine air spring was given. Analysis shows that the method is feasible and provides a new idea of air spring dynamic characteristic analysis.
