Abstract

A containing a single-mode mechanical structures with slight damping behaves as a system the dynamical performance of long period damped vibration. Reference inputs with lower impact, usually added to restrain the vibration, may lead to slowly response. To solve the problem, a time-delay sector was introduced in the control system. The strategy of PD combined with input-shaping control was presented and the dynamical behavior of the control system, subjected to S-curve inputs, was investigated. The effect of input shaping on vibration magnitude was quantitatively analyzed. As compared with the conventional PD feedback control under the same condition of feedback gains, PD combined with input shaping control produces no peak percent overshoot, eliminates effectively the residual vibration of the vibraton mechanisms in half one vibratory period and speeds system responses.
