Abstract

Polygonal wear of tire is a new subject of the tire wear study which has great theoretical value and research meaning. Considering the nonlinear characteristic of tire grounding friction, a dynamic model of tire polygonal wear is established based on lugre friction model. The ranges of speed and tire initial camber which can motivate self-excited vibration are given through simulation. These results provide a theoretic foundation to reduce or eliminate the tire self-excited vibration.
