Abstract

The boundary condition of the limited computing domain is key problem of dynamic finite element calculation. This study, using the nonlinear dynamic finite element method, investigates the seismic behavior of the slope. The boundary condition modeled in the dynamic analysis is summed up in five cases. The three actual seismic wave are inputted. The dynamic responses (displacement, acceleraction and frequency spectrum) of the slope are evaluated on the basis of the different boundary conditions and seismic wave. This paper shows that dynamic responses of the slope have significant difference. The research helps to further reveal the seismic properties of the slope, and to lay foundation for analyzing slope failure mechanisms and improving the reliability of slope stability analysis and evaluation.
