Abstract

In the split-level structure, the split-level height and form are the main factors influencing the loading capability of split-level region. In this paper, the regular split-level and symmetric trans-dimensional structure with uniform mass distribution were analyzed. Under frequent and rare earthquake excitations, the changing rule of shear force of the split-level region with different split-level height was studied through elastic-plastic time-history analysis. The shear force equation for the split-regen was further simplified. Considering the nonlinear influence, the magnifier of shear force for the split-level region was proposed.
