Abstract

A new isolator which mainly has the features of quasi equal strength, high damping and shock protection is researched and developed for a certain typed spacecraft payload. In consideration of security which is particularly important in the field of spacecraft, the isolator bracket is designed with equal strength theory which has significantly reduced the stress concentration and increased safety factor by 0.4 times. Energy dissipation theory of damping materials and Rongong modification of modal strain energy method are used to design a novel staggered comb structure resulting in a high damping ratio. At the same time, the equivalent damping ratio is designed in the best range of shock attenuation. Finally, experimental results of the isolation vibration system consisting of 30 isolation units show that the new isolator can effectively suppress both the low frequency resonance and the vibration in broadband frequency range.
