Abstract

High-rise buildings with strengthened storey have their own characteristics on lateral displacement and mechanic behavior under earthquake. In this paper, dynamic characteristics and lateral displacement disciplines of high-rise buildings with strengthened storey are analyzed, results of seismic energy dissipation are discussed, and then algorithms of optimization and design are presented. Regarding an actual high-rise building with strengthened storey in high intensive seismic region as an example, results of numerical simulation reveal that, its lateral displacement curve has abrupt changes and absence of slabs causes the whole structural displacement disciplines to change. At the same time, storey displacement angles and bottom storey shears of this building with dampers both decline. That is to say, effect of seismic energy dissipation is nicer after optimization.

Key words
